To Rebel or Not?
You are a colonists in Massachusetts in 1774. The Boston Massacre happened in 1770 and the Boston Tea Party happened in 1773, what are your feelings toward the King of England? Will you join the rebels or stay loyal to the king? Pick one and tell me why you made that decision in a paragraph.

I would be mad and a rebel cause I'm not paying a bunch of money for some nasty tea. I honestly hardly drink tea. Its not fair for other people and me to pay money for tea. That, I think its kind of retarded to pay for one cup of tea. Also what if other people didn't have any money or didn't like tea? Isn't that crazy!? Thats what I think.

I would join the rebelions because its not fair the way he treats them.I would standup for them and fight for no taxes. Its just not fair the way he treats them!! Also i made that decision because its not fair to just make a rule and lie about what you are doing with it.
ReplyDeleteI am on the kings side still. I feel great with everything he does. He makes very important choices. Since he did it, that means it was important and it needed to be done. That's why I am on the kings side. Well Bye!!
ReplyDeleteI would be a rebel because i don,t think its right that the king is taxing us. He sent his soldiers out so now we have to pay for the war and that is not right that we should pay for what he did.We did right by dumping the tea into the harbor. now he wants us to let his soldier live in our house and if i have to die because i killed a soldier then so be it I WILL NOT LETA MAN WHO KILED OUR PEOPLE LIVE IN MY HOUSE.
ReplyDeleteIm joining the rebels,because I think the colonist shouldn't be taxed. They shouldn't be taxed just because of the French and Indian War. He also told them we couldn't move west. And he put soldiers in our homes.Thats why i'm joining the rebels.
ReplyDeleteI would rebel the king because he raised the taxes on the lowered the price of the tea ,which was a fake. Also the stamp act just was not cool.
ReplyDeleteKnown I would say rebel probaly because I know most of the story. But back then that would be a hard decision because I wouldnt know how the king was taxing just so he could have more money . But eventually the colonists had find out so I think I would stay a rebel.
ReplyDeleteI would stay loyal to the king because, I wouldn't want anything to happen to my family. So I would pay all the taxes and follow all the rules. I'd respect the king and say nothing about it. Someday I might join the rebels but for now Im just going to stay loyal. All of my friends are rebels but I am not. BYE
ReplyDeleteIf I had the choose of being a rebel or not I would choose not. I would choose not because then I wouldn't be in the war. I would also would be able to dress as an indian in the Boston Massacre. I would also be able to see the new would before the rebel's would have. That is why I would be a colonist not a rebel.

ReplyDeleteIf i had to choose between being on the king side or a rebel i would most definetly choose to be a rebal. it isnt fair that he would tax the colonists for his own reasons. Pluse it isnt fair that the king is making us tax with no representation ( taxation without representation). i mean he is taking our money to pay for the French and Indian war. That is his problem not the colonists. i will always choose to be a rebal never loyal to the king.

I rebel because it is not fair that the king is taxing us. It also makes me upset that he is making soldiers stay in our houses, he says it is to protect us but, Im pretty sure its for a different reason. All the colonists think it is just not fair that he is going to tax us, but we don't have any representation in Parliament. The Stamp Act was especially bad though, there was no way around it! At least there was a way around the Sugar Act That is why I rebel.
ReplyDeleteHi my name is James Handcock I live in Massachusetts.I'm part in the rebel aliance .The reason I rebeled is because the ''king''is nothing but a tryant . First, he made us taxes and we don't even have a say in the goverment can you belive that.This why I joined the rebelion.
ReplyDeleteI would be a rebel. I wouldnt want a soldier to live with me cause, they killed people and I dont want a killer to be in my house. The kings taxes are too expensive and I shouldnt have to pay him for the French And Indian war.
ReplyDeleteI would be toward the king because its wrong to Tax. Why is because there are so many taxes Sugar Act, Stamp act,Quarter Act, And the Tea Act. He even blocked the Boston Harbor. I would hate to pay the Tax for tea, playing cards,And Documents. Thats why I am Against the King.

It is very cruel and harsh but i guess that was how you lived back then unless you were the King. The King is very stupid for putting a tax on tea. I mean really why would you put a tax on tea. Then it comes to playing cards from the Stamp Act. WHO TAXES PLAYING CARDS!?!?! I would never put a tax on something as stupid as playing cards! But i guess that is just me. That is why i would rebel and NOT!! stick with the king.

ReplyDeleteI would be a rebel because i think the king has made some dumb decisions in his life by taxing the colonists for the French & Indian War and for tea. I think it was also wrong for him to make all the Acts like the Tea Act and the Stamp act and he Sugar act. I think something needs to be done about the king taxing the colonists ALL the time and i think more people should be rebels and refuse to pay taxes so the king will have no money. And i really think it was wrong for the king to pass the Quartering Act so soldiers from the war could stay in our own homes without our say!?!?!

He had made all these acts like the: Stamp Act, the Quartering Act, and the Sugar and Intolerable acts. He even closed the PORT OF BOSTON!!!!!!!!!!. Yeah I know, thats why picked to be a rebel.

I hate the most is taxation without representation . I dressed up as an indian and dump one million dollars tea in the ocean . It was fun using a hatchet to crack open the boxes and the troops did not fired at us !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would pick to be one of the rebels, because it's not right for the king to be able to take away our rights or to tax us!! It's also not right for the king to let his soldiers go into the colonists homes and the colonist would have to let the soldiers just live with them! The colonists had to feed them clothe them and have to take care of them!! They are grown up, they should be able to take care of their self's. They should have to pay taxes too!!!!!! They should have to pay for their own food and their own houses. Just because they work for the king and are on the king's side doesn't mean they should get special treatment. If they should be able to get special treatment the colonists should be able to have that same special treatment, but since they don't they have the right to be able to fight back! They really did have they right to have the Boston Tea Party!!!!!!!!!!!! The colonists life's were not fair at all!
